BIOGRAPHY
1986 to 1993: Go-Kart Championships in Brasil.
1995: At the age of 16, claimed fourth place in the Italian Formula Europa Boxer series.
1996: Entered the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup series. Went on to dominate the series, winning nine of 11 championship races. Claimed the championship title.
1997: Signed to race for the Promatecme team in the British Formula 3 Championship. Finished fifth, earning one race win and six podiums in 14 races. Earned a third-place finish in the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix.
1998: Competed for the second year with the Promatecme team in the British Formula 3 Championship. Earned six victories, four poles, seven podiums, and four fastest laps in 15 races. Ended the year as the runner-up in the Championship. Runner-up at the Marlboro Masters Formula 3 race. Third place in the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix.
1999: Stepped up to the F3000 series with the Red Bull Junior Team. Got his first taste of Formula One when he drove a Sauber at Magny Cours. He was then named as a test driver for the Sauber team.
2000: Continued in the F3000 series with the Red Bull Junior Team. Earned one pole and took the lead in two races. During winter testing for the 2001 F3000 season, he was regularly on the top of the time sheets and was favored to win the Championship in 2001. Continued duties as a test driver for the Sauber Formula One team.
2001: After a test with the Orange Arrows Team, it was announced that he would become a full-time Formula One driver. Made his Formula One debut at the 2001 Australian Grand Prix. Made 17 starts. Finished in the top ten three times during his rookie season, with his best finish of eighth in Germany.
2002: Continued to drive for Orange Arrows Team in Formula One. Made 11 starts, best qualifying position was 12 in Austria. Best finish was 10th in Europe.
2003: When the Arrows F1 team fell apart, he opted to change series. Competed in the popular and competitive Formula Nissan World Series with RC Motorsport, GD Racing. Won the final two races of the season to finish sixth in the championship. He also earned two poles and a total of five podium finishes.
2004: Returned to Formula One joining the Lucky Strike BAR Honda team as a test driver. Continued competing with GD Racing in the Formula Nissan World Series. Finished third in the championship with two wins, two poles, seven podiums, and three fastest laps.
2005: Continued his duties as a test driver for the Lucky Strike BAR Honda team.
2006: Participated in the Argentinian TC2000 piloting a Honda Civic. Tested with Rocketsports Racing in a Champ Car.
2007: Joined team Biosintética in the StockCar Brasil series. Competed behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Bora in 11 events earning two podium finishes. 
2008: Will make his Indy Car Series debut driving for Conquest Racing..
